The Concept

 

The Sensory Lounger/Chair is based on established research findings indicating that deep touch pressure can produce a calming effect on children and that those with autism ASD’s will often seek out deep pressure sensations. Market research revealed that there wasn’t a product that provided both deep pressure sensation and had aesthetic qualities that would make it suitable for household or classroom use. CAPS students developed and tested a prototype with Blue Valley students, had an overwhelming positive response, refined the prototype, and have engaged other students in a cross-disciplinary project.

 

A provisional patent has been filed for both products.
